Pre-screening

Pre-screening adds a short qualification step before the main AI interview (when you enable it). You choose the mode when you create an interview, then configure details in the interview editor on the pre-screen stage.

Wizard: choose the path

During creation, the step Choose interview stages offers:

  • AI Interview only β€” candidates go directly to the main interview.

  • Pre-screening + AI Interview β€” candidates complete pre-screen first, then the main interview when they pass your rules.

Editor: pre-screen type (draft)

While pre-screen is in draft, you pick the assessment shape:

TypeMeaning

Form + Resume

Candidates answer qualifying form questions and provide a resume for AI analysis.

Form

Qualifying form only (no resume analysis block).

Resume

Resume analysis only (no form block).

Position country

Select the position country required for form and resume rules. It affects:

  • Which visa options appear (visa is hidden if the country has no visa configuration).

  • Education lists (country-specific where applicable).

  • Age and Gender β€” hidden for EU / GDPR countries in the product.

Candidate expectations

Free-text candidate expectations is stored on the pre-screen definition. Confirm internally whether this text is shown to candidates or used only for AI / internal scoring, then document that for your team.

Pre-screening form fields

Each standard field can be off, or on with behaviour such as optional, required, or screening (exact options depend on the field):

  • Nationality

  • Residency

  • Languages

  • Education

  • Visa

  • Age

  • Gender

Custom fields

Use Add custom field to add questions with your own title. You can edit titles while in draft and remove fields when allowed.

Screening behaviour

When a field is enabled:

  • Many fields support mark for review vs reject on mismatch (labels on screen).

  • Match between Resume and Job Position uses score thresholds (accept / reject band).

  • Technical experience uses a minimum years style rule.

AI resume analysis block

Shown when the type is not form-only:

  • Technical experience

  • Match between Resume and Job Position

  • Education (inferred from resume)

Same enable / review / reject patterns apply where the UI exposes them.

Draft vs published

Most configuration is editable only in draft. After you publish, the UI often shows a read-only summary (cards with type, country, expectations). Plan changes accordingly.
